Doha: A delegation from Diaspora of Malappuram Qatar (DoM Qatar) met Dr. Vinod Goyal, District Collector of Malappuram, and discussed initiatives aimed at strengthening cooperation for the welfare and development of the district’s expatriate community. The delegation presented an overview of DoM Qatar, including its mission, ongoing activities and future plans as a community organisation representing Malappuram expatriates in Qatar.
The discussions focused on key areas of expatriate welfare, including skill development, upskilling and reskilling programmes, and initiatives for the rehabilitation, reintegration and re-employment of returning expatriates.
The delegation expressed DoM Qatar’s willingness to work closely with the district administration and coordinate with Malappuram expatriate communities across the Gulf to support the welfare of overseas residents and contribute to the district’s development. Dr. Goyal said the district administration attaches importance to working with expatriate organisations representing Malappuram natives across different countries and welcomed DoM Qatar’s active cooperation in such initiatives.
The delegation also briefed the Collector on “AMAL”, DoM Qatar’s anti-drug awareness campaign, outlining its objectives and various phases of implementation. Appreciating the initiative, Dr. Goyal commended the campaign’s efforts to raise awareness against substance abuse and conveyed his best wishes for its success. Chief Advisor Mashhood V.C., General Secretary Siddique Vazhakkad, and Vice Presidents C.K. Abdul Asees and P.C. Noufal Kattuppara were also present. Both sides expressed optimism about continued cooperation in areas aimed at strengthening expatriate welfare and supporting the overall development of Malappuram district.
