The 11th Local Dates Festival, organized by the Ministry of Municipality in collaboration with Souq Waqif, concluded with a remarkable turnout and impressive sales of local date varieties.
The festival drew approximately 110,000 visitors and achieved sales of 183,268 kilograms of dates. The sales were distributed as follows: 78,194 kilograms of the Khalas variety, 34,336 kilograms of the Khenaizi variety, 34,673 kilograms of the Shishi variety, and 22,404 kilograms of the Barhi variety, with other varieties totaling 13,661 kilograms.
The high attendance and sales underscore the festival's success in promoting local agricultural products, enhancing the market presence of Qatari dates, encouraging local farmers to boost production and quality, and providing a platform for marketing local date varieties directly to consumers.
