Doha: Authorities
in Qatar have extended the validity of the Hayya visitor visa by an additional
month for foreigners currently in the country, considering the regional
situation and disruption to flight services.
The
extension applies to visas set to expire on May 7, 2026, granting visitors an
additional 30 days to remain until the first week of June. Visas are
automatically renewed through approved electronic systems one week before
expiry. No special fees are being charged, and this marks the third such
extension since the regional conflict began.
The
decision offers relief to thousands of visitors who have been unable to return
home due to sharply increased ticket prices and limited flight availability,
particularly families on visitor visas facing sudden travel disruptions. Those
wishing to check their visa status can do so through the Ministry of Interior's
website using their passport or visa number.
Meanwhile, foreign airlines from India, including Air India, Air India Express, and Indigo, have resumed services to and from Doha. Expatriates expect ticket prices to drop significantly as more airlines resume operations. Authorities aim to ensure the welfare and safety of visitors until flight services return to normal.
