Doha: Qatar Tourism (QT) has announced that the Hayya platform has won the Silver Award in the Technical Innovation of the Year in Government Technology category at the 2026 Stevie Awards for Technology Excellence, recognising its role in delivering AI-powered, automated and intelligently integrated government services.
Since
2024, Hayya has evolved from a visitor entry platform into Qatar's official
digital gateway for tourism, government services and major international
events. The platform integrates identity verification, visa approvals,
payments, notifications and access services into a single workflow, while
advanced technologies such as OCR-powered document extraction, passport parsing
and automated validation have significantly improved efficiency. In 2025, Hayya
processed nearly 850,000 applications,
averaging one e-visa every 35 seconds,
while reducing application correction rates to 5 percent.
Hayya
Director Saeed Al Kuwari said
the award reflects the platform's commitment to innovation and user-centric
digital services that provide a seamless travel experience from visa
application to arrival in Qatar. Operated by Qatar Tourism, Hayya serves as the
country's official e-visa platform, while the Stevie Awards recognise
outstanding achievements by organisations and professionals worldwide,
attracting more than 12,000 entries
annually from over 70 countries.
