Doha: Expanding its footprint in Qatar's retail sector, Safari Group officially opened its eighth outlet, Safari Shopping Center – GWC Logistics Village, on Monday, August 3. The new shopping center commenced operations at 11:00 am, marking another milestone in the company's more than two-decade journey of providing quality products, customer-focused services and innovative promotional campaigns to shoppers across the country.
The outlet was officially inaugurated by Shri Panakkad Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal in the presence of Safari Group of Companies Group Chairman Shri Hamad Dafar Abdul Hadi Al Ahbabi, Safari Group Deputy Chairman & Managing Director Shri Zainul Abideen, General Manager Shri Surendranath, Doha Bank Acting Chief of Wholesale Banking Mr. Fadi Fattal, GWC Chief Commercial Officer Mr. Syed Maaz, GWC Chief Finance Officer Mr. Hicham Nedjari, along with members of the Safari management team.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by several prominent personalities from the political, social and cultural sectors, including MLA Parakkal Abdulla, IUML Kannur District President Abdul Kareem Chelery, District Vice President Adv. K. Latheef, IUML Koothuparamba Mandalam Treasurer Dr. N.A. Rafeeq, Kallinkandi N.A.M. College General Secretary P.P. Hameed, Adv. Roshan (Perinthalmanna), Former Kannur District MSF President Riyas Necholi, as well as representatives from leading companies and business establishments in Qatar.
As part of the grand opening celebrations, Safari launched its 'Visit & Win' promotion, giving every visitor to the Safari Hypermarket at GWC Compound, Logistics Village, an opportunity to participate in a mega raffle draw. In a first-of-its-kind promotion in Qatar, two Chevrolet Captiva SUVs will be given away through two separate raffle draws. Visitors will receive free raffle coupons without any purchase requirement, with the first draw scheduled for September 17, 2026, and the second on November 5, 2026, at the GWC Compound, Logistics Village.
The
newly opened outlet has been designed as a complete shopping destination for

other fresh essentials, while the Bakery & Hot Food section serves freshly
