Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Interior (MOI), through its official social media channels, has issued a set of safety guidelines for vacationers planning to leave Qatar during the summer season.
The Ministry emphasised the importance of following a few simple steps to ensure a safe and secure journey. Community members are encouraged to check electrical connections, unplug unnecessary appliances, and repair any damaged equipment before departing.
For those embarking on road trips, the Ministry advised inspecting vehicle tires, engine cooling systems, and electrical wiring to prevent roadside breakdowns.
In family trips involving children, the MOI stressed the importance of not leaving children unattended in vehicles and keeping them within sight in public places.
At swimming pools, it recommended that an adult supervise children at all times, ensuring they stay in age-appropriate swimming areas and use life jackets when necessary.
The Ministry also highlighted the need for caution when booking online, urging travelers to verify booking links and the legitimacy of travel offers before proceeding. It warned against sharing personal or banking details with untrusted parties.
Additionally, the ministry reminded travelers to ensure their official documents are up to date before traveling. It noted that all travel transactions can conveniently be completed through the Metrash app.
