Doha: The Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) marked the
100th edition of its popular Wednesday Fiesta with a grand celebration of
Indian culture on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at ICC Ashoka Hall. The
milestone event highlighted the continued success of the cultural programme in
bringing the Indian community together through music, art and diverse cultural
expressions.

The special edition showcased the richness and
diversity of India’s artistic traditions, while celebrating Wednesday Fiesta’s
journey as a vibrant platform for cultural exchange. Over the years, the
programme has provided opportunities for Indian artists to present their
talents and has encouraged greater community participation in cultural
activities in Qatar.

The highlight of the evening was a special Ghazal
performance by renowned Ghazal and Hindustani singer Padmakumar. His soulful
renditions captivated the audience and created a memorable musical experience,
adding a distinctive charm to the landmark 100th edition.

ICC General Secretary Abraham K. Joseph welcomed
the guests and dignitaries, while ICC Head of Cultural Activities Nandini
Abbagouni delivered the opening remarks. The programme was presided over by ICC
President A. P. Manikantan, who addressed the gathering on the significance of
the milestone.

Dr. Vaibhav A. Tandale, Counsellor (Head of
Chancery and Consular), Embassy of India, attended the programme as the Chief
Guest. The event was also graced by ICC Advisory Council Chairman P. N.
Baburajan, presidents of associated organisations and senior members of the
Indian community in Qatar.

ICC Vice President Shantanu Deshpande proposed the
vote of thanks at the conclusion of the programme. The evening was seamlessly
hosted by Manju Manoj, who guided the audience through the special celebration.

The 100th Wednesday Fiesta stands as a significant
milestone in the ICC’s ongoing cultural journey, reflecting its efforts to
provide a platform for Indian artists and promote the country’s diverse
cultural heritage. The landmark edition also reaffirmed the role of cultural
programmes in strengthening community bonds and encouraging greater cultural engagement
