Doha: The Indian Media Forum, an association of Indian journalists based in
Qatar, organised a farewell function in honour of Pradeep Menon, its former
president and a long-serving member of the expatriate community. Menon, who
worked as a correspondent for Amrita TV in Qatar, is set to return to India
after spending nearly three and a half decades in the Gulf nation. The event
was held at Zaitoon Restaurant and brought together members of the Forum and
well-wishers to celebrate his long journey and contributions to Indian media in
Qatar.
The
farewell gathering was presided over by Media Forum President O.K. Parumala,
who spoke about Menon's dedication and role in strengthening the Indian journalist
community in Qatar over the years. Several senior members also addressed the
gathering, including Vice President Sadiq Chennadan, Amanulla Vadakkakara,
Nishad Guruvayoor, Abbas Muhammed, P.V. Nassar, Harris, RV Rafeeque and Muhammad
Rafeeq Thankayathil. The speakers recalled Menon's contributions to journalism
and community life in Doha, wishing him well as he begins a new chapter back
home after decades abroad.

Forum General Secretary Shafeeq Arakkal welcomed the gathering and coordinated
the proceedings of the event. As a token of appreciation for his long
association with the organisation, members of the Indian Media Forum presented
a memento to Pradeep Menon. The event concluded on a warm note, with members
expressing gratitude for his years of service and extending best wishes for his
future endeavours in India.
