An Indian medical student lost her life and two others sustained injuries in a road accident in Kazakhstan, the Indian Embassy confirmed on Tuesday. The incident occurred when a group of 11 Indian students from Semey Medical University met with an accident while returning from an excursion trip.
The
deceased has been identified as Mili Mohan (25). Two other students, Ashika Sheejamini Santhosh
and Jaseena B, were
injured in the mishap. According to the Embassy, both injured students are in
stable condition and are currently undergoing treatment at City Hospital No. 1 in
Ust-Kamenagorsk.
In
a statement shared on social media platform X, the Indian Embassy expressed its
deepest condolences to the family of the deceased and said it is in constant
touch with the university, hospital authorities, and the families of the
students. The Embassy also noted that family members of the injured students
have reached Kazakhstan and are coordinating closely with officials.
“The Embassy is working with local authorities to
ensure all necessary assistance and is extending every possible support during
this extremely difficult time,” the statement said.
The Embassy further added that arrangements are
being made on a priority basis to repatriate the mortal remains to India.
