Tehran:
Iran has temporarily reopened the Strait of Hormuz following a 10-day truce
between Israel and Lebanon, but warned it will shut the waterway again if the
U.S. naval blockade of Iranian ports continues. While Iranian Foreign Minister
Abbas Araqchi declared the passage open for commercial vessels, leading to a
10% drop in global oil prices, President Donald Trump insisted the U.S.
blockade will remain until a final deal with Tehran is secured.
The
current truce is set to expire this Wednesday, and President Trump has
threatened to resume military action if a long-term agreement is not reached.
Iranian Parliamentary Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf countered that the
Strait will not stay open under the pressure of a blockade.
