Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education honoured 56 outstanding graduates from evening education centres for the 2025/2026 academic year, coinciding with International Literacy Day.

The ceremony, held in collaboration with the Sheikh Abdullah Al Ansari Complex and attended by HE Undersecretary Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, emphasised that evening education centres represent a leading national model for expanding educational opportunities and upholding equal access to education. The total number of graduates from evening centres nationwide during the academic year reached 759, comprising 402 male students (about 53 percent) and 357 female students (about 47 percent).

The total number of students enrolled in evening centres reached approximately 1,620 students of various nationalities, with Qatari students accounting for 48.5 percent and non-Qatari students 51.5 percent. Assistant Director of the Department of School and Student Affairs Fatima Yousuf Al Obaidli said obtaining a high school diploma marks the beginning of a new phase of learning and self-development, emphasising the importance of graduates continuing their educational journeys.

The Continuing Education Department oversees nine evening centres across the country - four for male students and five for female students - offering flexible educational options that cater to various segments of society.
