Doha: Kalanjali 2026 - Qatar Indian School Youth Festival was officially announced at a function held in Doha, bringing together representatives of Indian schools and members of the festival’s organising and advisory committees. The festival, which celebrates the talent, culture and creativity of Indian school students, will be held from October 16 to 30.

Mr. Abraham Joseph, General Secretary, Indian Cultural Centre (ICC), made the official announcement. The festival’s official poster was launched by Mr. Abdul Rahman, President, Indian Sports Centre (ISC), in the presence of Mr. P. N. Baburajan, Chairman of the Advisory Board, ICC, and members of the Kalanjali Advisory Board. The official festival video was launched by Mrs. Anjana Menon, Director Board Member, Bhavans Indian School.

The Kalanjali Souvenir 2019–2025 was released by Mr. Azam Khan, Principal, Ideal Indian School, in the presence of representatives from various Indian schools. Mr. Binu Kumar, President, Kalanjali, welcomed the gathering, while Mr. Anwar Hussain, General Secretary, Kalanjali, presented the plans and schedule for the 2026 edition.

Kalanjali 2026 will begin with off-stage competitions on October 16 and 17, followed by on-stage competitions from October 23 to 28. A special programme for students and teachers will be held on October 29, while the festival will conclude with the Grand Closing Ceremony on October 30.

This year’s festival will introduce a Mega Stage exclusively for KG children, providing younger participants with a dedicated platform to showcase their talents. The organisers have also doubled the number of competition stages to accommodate the expected increase in participation. Prizes for second and third positions will be distributed on the same day, ensuring a more streamlined competition experience.

The organisers appealed for the continued cooperation and support of school managements, teachers, parents, students, sponsors, supporters and members of the Indian community in Qatar to make Kalanjali 2026 a grand success. The festival carries the theme, “Celebrating Talent, Culture and Togetherness,” highlighting its role in bringing together students and the wider Indian community through art and cultural activities.
