MoEHE launches second edition of 'Hisn' to promote students' mental and social wellbeing

Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has launched the second edition of its 'Hisn' preventive project in government schools and kindergartens for the 2026-2027 academic year, as part of efforts to promote students' mental and social health and create safe, supportive learning environments.

The launch forum, organised by the Student Protection and Care Section, was attended by more than 400 psychological and social specialists. The project aims to strengthen protective factors and life skills among students, reduce risk factors, and promote positive behaviours.

Assistant Director of the School and Student Affairs Department Fatima Al Obaidli said "Hisn 2" builds on the project's mission of establishing a culture of prevention, emphasising that providing a safe and aware educational environment requires integrated efforts from families, schools, and the wider community. Dr. Ahmed Al Hadidi presented a statistical analysis of the first "Hisn" project, which was implemented in 145 schools and benefited 30,904 students, with 16,610 parents participating.

The preventive programmes under "Hisn 2" include "Protection and Safety" for primary students, "Irada" for preparatory and secondary students, and "Safe Steps" for students in specialised schools for people with disabilities.
