Doha, Qatar: The
Ministry of Education and Higher Education has announced an increase in the
maximum admission age for students with disabilities and learning difficulties,
aimed at facilitating their enrollment in Qatari schools. This update was part
of a broader set of measures introduced on April 12, 2026, to streamline the admission
process and clarify documentation requirements for specific student groups.
Under the new
regulations, the maximum age limit for students from pre-school through Grade 4
has been extended by one year. Specifically, children with disabilities or learning
difficulties are now eligible for pre-school enrollment if they are younger
than 5 years, 11 months, and 29 days.
For students in higher grades, the expansion is even more significant. The age limit for Grade 5 through Grade 12 has been raised by two years. For example, the maximum age for entry into Grade 10 is now set at 18 years, 11 months, and 29 days. These changes are intended to provide greater flexibility and support for students with diverse needs as they navigate their educational journey.
