The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) announced on Tuesday that at least 322 children have been killed in the Gaza Strip over the past 10 days, following the resumption of Israeli military operations on March 18, after a two-month ceasefire.

According to a UNICEF statement, the renewed heavy shelling and ground operations have also resulted in the injury of 609 children, averaging more than 100 children killed or injured daily.

Most of the affected children were displaced, seeking refuge in temporary tents or damaged homes. The casualties include those from an airstrike on the emergency department of Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza Strip. UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell emphasized that the ceasefire had been a critical lifeline for Gaza's children, expressing concern over the renewed suffering due to ongoing bombardments.
