Qatar issues early morning safety alert, declares all clear after precautionary warning

Doha: Authorities in Qatar issued an emergency alert to residents in the early hours of Thursday, July 9, urging people to remain indoors, stay away from glass windows, and avoid going outside as a precautionary safety measure. Similar alerts were also issued in neighboring Bahrain, while Kuwait activated its air defence systems in response to reported aerial threats.

At around 4:00am, residents across Qatar received a mobile phone alert advising them to follow safety instructions issued by the authorities. A short while later, a second official message confirmed that the situation had returned to normal, informing the public that the danger had passed and normal activities could safely resume.

In Kuwait, the Defence Ministry stated that its air defence systems intercepted hostile drones and missiles, adding that the explosion sounds heard were the result of defensive operations. Authorities in all three Gulf countries urged the public to remain calm and continue following official safety guidance as the regional security situation continues to be closely monitored.
