Qatar's passport ranks 48th globally, second in Gulf in 2026 Henley Passport Index

Doha, Qatar: As per the latest Henley Passport Index released on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, Qatar's passport has achieved a global ranking of 48th and is second in the Gulf region. The ranking highlights that Qatari passport holders enjoy visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 112 destinations, including Europe's Schengen area. 

The index, which marks 20 years since its inception, shows an average passport now offers visa-free access to 108 destinations, a significant increase from 58 previously.

Meanwhile, Singapore retains its lead as the world's most powerful passport, granting access to 192 destinations. The United Arab Emirates shares the second spot with Japan and South Korea, each offering access to 188 destinations.
