Expats Sportev forms welcome committee for Community Sports Meet

Doha, Qatar: As part of the Qatar National Sports Day celebrations, Expats Sportev has formed a comprehensive Welcome Committee for the successful conduct of the Community Sports Meet. The committee has been constituted with experienced office bearers and volunteers to ensure smooth coordination and effective execution of the event.

R. Chandramohan has been appointed as the Chief Patron, while Expats Sportev President Abdul Gafoor A.R. will serve as the Chairman of the Welcome Committee. Suhail Shanthapuram, Dr. Thaj Aluva, Sadiq Chennadan, Rasheed Ahmed, and Aseem M.T. have been named as Vice Chairmen.

Ahmed Shafi has been elected as the General Convener. The departmental conveners include Thaseen Ameen (Resources), Nihas Eriyad (Technical), Raheem Vengeri (Public Relations), Shuaib Abdurahman (Administration), Sharafuddin Vadakangara (Facilities), Rasheedali (Guest Management), Majeedali (Team Parade), Ahmed Anwar (Trophies and Medals), Sanjay Cherian (Food), Anees Mala (Ceremonies), Lata Krishna (Women’s Competitions), Siddique Vengeri (Volunteers), Rabeeh Zaman (Media), and Jaseem Lucky (Publicity).

The assistant conveners appointed to various departments are Muneesh A.C., Sajna Saki, Fayiz T., Habeeb Valanchery, Shafi Moozhikkal, Shuaib Mohammed, Shrafudheen M.S., Basith Kallayil, Zaheer Kottayam, Muhsin Palakkad, Sakeena Abdullah, Shareen Vengeri, Sana Naseem, Najla Najeeb, Maqbool Ahmed, Thahir, Nisthar Kalamassery, and Fahad E.K.

The committee formation meeting was inaugurated by Pravasi Welfare State President R. Chandramohan. Abdul Gafoor A.R., Ahmed Shafi, Thaseen Ameen, and other leaders addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of community participation and sports in promoting unity and healthy living.

The Community Sports Meet will be held on Friday, February 6, at the Warm-Up Field, Aspire Zone. A march past showcasing the cultural diversity of India and Qatar will be a special attraction of the event. Athletes who have represented India in international masters tournaments will also participate in various team events. Prominent personalities from the community are expected to attend the opening and closing ceremonies.
