Doha: As part of the 20th anniversary celebrations of Focus International Qatar Region, a Junior Rapid Chess Tournament was held in collaboration with Horwitz Bishop Chess Academy, attracting around 200 young participants. Showcasing exceptional skill and strategy, Ivan Varghese Sanju was crowned champion in the Under-15 category, while Shivansh Joshi clinched the Under-10 title.

In
the Under-15 section, Kishore Arunagiri
secured the runner-up position, followed by Sreejan
Dhanaraj, Laina Ann Mathew,
and Prince Liven Karunanayake,
who finished third, fourth, and fifth respectively. In the Under-10 division, Ankit Arun emerged as runner-up, with Edwin Idikkula, Muhammed Azam,
and Devansh Kumar taking third,
fourth, and fifth places respectively.
Other
top performers included Ain Vaibhav and Shruthika Sunil (Under-12), Swarith Tejas Mehta and Anliya
Sajan (Under-11), Aadavan Rajasekhar
and Subanya Vasantharajan (Under-9),
Daya Vasantharajan and Monisha Shri Dhanaraj (Under-8), Shlok Bhavisi and Hanvika Shrutagna
(Under-7), and Adinath Anand
(Under-6), all recognized as Best
Players in their respective categories.

expertly coordinated by Sajeer Punathil,
Director of Focus International Rayyan Division, and Muhammed Sadeed, Deputy Director. Event management and

Shabeer, Rashiq Backer, Sabeeh Mampad, Shahid Nallalam, Musthafa Kappad, Muhammed Hafees, Ramshad, and Jasir Ameen,
ensuring a smooth and successful tournament.
