MES Indian School marks 51st Annual Day with grand spectacle of culture, talent and excellence

Doha, Qatar: MES Indian School marked its 51st Annual Day, “Mesmerise 2025,” with a spectacular celebration of culture, talent and academic excellence on November 27 and 28, 2025. Held on the school’s vast grass field, the grand two-day festival drew more than 6,500 attendees each day and featured over 3,500 students performing in 90 stage events, showcasing the institution’s deep commitment to holistic development and value-based education.


The event was graced by His Excellency Vipul, Ambassador of India to Qatar, and Shri Vaibhav A. Tandale, Counsellor (Head of Chancery & Consular), Embassy of India, who attended as Chief Guests. H.E. Vipul praised the school for its outstanding contributions to academic and co-scholastic excellence and urged students to harness emerging technologies ethically, keeping the welfare of the community in mind. His words reinforced the school’s mission of shaping responsible global citizens.


Shri Vaibhav A. Tandale delivered an inspiring message, sharing a powerful anecdote that underscored the importance of nurturing passion, independent thinking, and a spirit of inquiry. He encouraged students to embrace scientific thinking and innovation as foundations for future success, reminding them of their potential to contribute meaningfully to a rapidly evolving world.


In his address, Mr B.M. Sidhique, President of the M.E.S Governing Board, emphasised the school’s long-standing philosophy that education extends far beyond textbooks. He highlighted the school’s efforts to cultivate intellectually curious, emotionally balanced, and morally grounded learners from Kindergarten to Grade 12 through modern facilities, inclusive programmes and a supportive learning environment.


General Secretary of the Governing Board, Dr Najeeb K.P., reflected on the transformative journey of M.E.S Indian School over the past five decades and honoured the dedication of the founders, faculty, and staff who helped shape the institution. Principal Dr Hameeda Kadar presented the Annual Report for 2024–25, capturing the remarkable achievements of students across academic, cultural, and extracurricular domains.


The prestigious award ceremony recognised the Qatar Toppers in Science, Commerce, and Humanities streams for Class XII CBSE 2024–25, who received cash awards, gold coins, mementoes, and certificates. School toppers and subject toppers achieving perfect 100 scores were honoured with gold medals and cash awards, while students securing A1 grades in all subjects in Class X and XII were also felicitated. Teachers whose guidance resulted in perfect centum scores were equally celebrated.

Special recognition was given to students and a teacher who demonstrated excellence at international sporting events, as well as to achievers who secured their place in the Guinness Book of Records. Additionally, long-serving staff members who completed 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 years of dedicated service were honoured, acknowledging their invaluable role in strengthening the institution.

The cultural segment mesmerised audiences with a vibrant tapestry of performances that demonstrated artistic grace, youthful energy, and creative brilliance. A magnificent Elephant Float, designed by the school’s Art Department, became the highlight of the event as it was ceremoniously paraded to the rhythmic beats of Chenda Melam, marking both the opening and closing moments of the celebration and leaving the audience enthralled.

The grand event was attended by M.E.S Governing Board Members, Directors, Management Members of IES Education City–Chittilappilly, Principals of expatriate schools, school officials, parents, teachers, and students. Welcomes were extended by student representatives Nadiya Jaleel and Mohammed Kamal Ali Badran, while votes of thanks were delivered by Arshad Aman, Mohammed Abdul Muqeet, and Jonah Jijo. The programme’s seamless execution was led by Cultural Coordinators Mr Anver K. and Mrs Sumitha Abdul Nassar, supported by Section Coordinators Mr Harshan V., Mrs Umadevi, Mrs Sijila Das, and Mrs Dharini Selvi Siva Backiyarajen, whose dedicated efforts ensured the success and splendour of the 51st Annual Day celebrations.
