Doha, Qatar: The General Directorate of Traffic has announced an extension of the grace period for vehicles with expired registrations. Owners of vehicles that have exceeded the legal period stipulated in Article (11) of Traffic Law No. (19) of 2007 are now granted an additional 60 days, effective from August 28, 2025.

The decision follows an earlier announcement issued on July 27, 2025, which initially required owners to rectify their status within 30 days. With the new extension, motorists now have until the end of the 60-day period to complete the renewal process and avoid penalties or legal consequences.

According to the Traffic Directorate, this initiative is aimed at providing vehicle owners with sufficient time to complete the necessary procedures while ensuring compliance with national traffic regulations. The move also reflects the Directorate’s broader commitment to enhancing road safety and maintaining orderly vehicle management across the country.
