Doha: His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, held a telephone conversation on Tuesday with the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, during which they discussed bilateral relations and recent developments following the Ras Laffan industrial facility incident. At the beginning of the call, HH the Amir conveyed his sincere condolences to the Indian Prime Minister over the victims of the explosion, which resulted in the deaths and injuries of several Indian nationals. He also wished the injured a speedy recovery. Prime Minister Modi expressed his gratitude to HH the Amir for his heartfelt condolences and praised the support, medical care, and assistance provided by Qatar to those affected by the incident. He also commended the efforts of the relevant authorities in responding to the emergency. Both leaders expressed solidarity with the families of the victims and reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of their peoples. They also reviewed the strong friendship and cooperation between Qatar and India and discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral relations.
