Amir, Macron, Spanish PM and Guyanese President stress need for de-escalation

Doha, Qatar: His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani held a series of telephone conversations with Emmanuel Macron, Pedro Sánchez, and Mohamed Irfaan Ali to discuss the latest regional developments and the implications of ongoing conflicts on global energy supplies and security.

During his call with President Macron, the Amir reviewed the impact of recent escalation, including Iranian attacks targeting Qatar, on regional and international stability. Both leaders highlighted the importance of ensuring stable energy supplies and strengthening international cooperation, while also discussing developments in Lebanon and the need to intensify efforts toward regional stability. President Macron praised Qatar’s balanced approach and reiterated France’s support and solidarity.

In a separate call with Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, discussions focused on maritime security and the broader impact of the crisis, with both sides stressing the importance of de-escalation and reviewing bilateral relations. Meanwhile, in his conversation with President Mohamed Irfaan Ali, the Amir discussed regional and international developments, with the Guyanese leader expressing strong support for Qatar. The Amir, in turn, appreciated Guyana’s solidarity and reaffirmed the importance of enhancing cooperation between the two countries.
