Doha, Qatar: The
Ministry of Public Health has renewed its call for residents to adopt healthier
habits as the world marks World Health Day.
In a social media post, the ministry advised
reducing consumption of foods and beverages high in sugar, salt, and unhealthy
fats to help prevent disease and improve quality of life. It also encouraged
individuals to quit tobacco use.
Residents were urged to maintain adequate
hydration, with 8 to 12 cups of water daily for adults and seniors, and 6 to 8
cups for children. The ministry stressed the importance of regular physical
activity, limiting prolonged inactivity, and ensuring seven to nine hours of
sleep per night.
On mental well-being, MoPH called for effective stress management through exercise, relaxation, proper rest, and maintaining supportive social connections.
