Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Red Crescent Society has reported significant improvements in patient flow following the rollout of its "Hakeem" digital health platform, which reduces waiting times and streamlines procedures at workers' health centres. Ahmed Saud Jassim, Director of Administrative and Financial Affairs at QRCS, told Qatar TV that the platform helps manage over 5,000 daily patient visits across QRCS-operated facilities.
Hakeem enables remote access to services including appointment booking, medical records, prescriptions, medical certificates, diagnoses, and radiology images. Patients with pre-booked appointments can proceed directly to their clinic, while prescriptions are issued electronically with digital payment options.
In its first phase, Hakeem targets single male labourers who are the
primary beneficiaries of QRCS's four health centres. The platform will expand
to broader populations in future phases and is integrated with the Ministry of
Public Health's central medical records system.
The platform is secured through the national authentication system with ISO 27001 certification. The initiative supports Qatar National Vision 2030 by advancing digital transformation in healthcare.
