Doha, Qatar: Ras Abu Abboud is witnessing the emerging development of the Qatar Aeronautical Academy as the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) spearheads efforts to advance educational and training infrastructure in line with top international standards. This initiative aims to cultivate qualified national talent, fortifying Qatar's position as a leading aviation, education, and specialized training hub in the region.
On Wednesday, Ashghal announced significant progress in the project, highlighting the ongoing construction of specialized facilities that provide a comprehensive learning environment. Key features include the Flight Operations and Pilot Training Building and the Air Traffic Control Simulation and Airport Operations Management Building, offering state-of-the-art resources for practical training and simulation.
The project also encompasses the construction of a hangar for the Aircraft Support Services Unit at Doha International Airport, enhancing the academy's training capabilities. Additionally, improvements to student accommodations aim to increase capacity and enhance residential quality.
Adhering to Global Sustainability Assessment System (GSAS) standards, the development focuses on upgrading infrastructure, boosting energy and water efficiency, and utilizing sustainable materials to minimize environmental impact. This initiative is part of Ashghal's broader commitment to support educational and training facilities development, aligning with the rapid evolution of critical sectors such as aviation.
