Doha, Qatar: In September, Qatar National Library (QNL) is set to host a five-day filmmaking workshop as part of the second cycle of its Keys to Palestine initiative. The workshop aims to equip aspiring filmmakers and content creators with skills in humanitarian documentary storytelling. Titled "Voices of Keys to Palestine: A Volunteer Community to Document the Story," the workshop will be led by journalist and producer Khaola Bouslam, focusing on capturing Palestinian experiences, memories, and personal stories for future generations.
The free workshop will offer a blend of practical training and hands-on production, covering the fundamentals of humanitarian documentary filmmaking. Participants will be guided through developing ideas into documentary projects, planning, production, and field filming. Additionally, the program will delve into human-centered storytelling and ethical documentation, emphasizing respect for participants' dignity and narrative authenticity.
By the conclusion of the workshop, attendees will produce a documentary project for evaluation and have the opportunity to contribute to the Keys to Palestine initiative through interviews, personal testimonies, family memories, and community stories.
