Doha: Birla Public School successfully hosted its annual exhibition, Amalgam 2026, under the theme "The Art of Science, The Science of Imagination." Held on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 3:30pm to 7:30pm, the event brought together scientific innovation, digital technology, and visual arts, providing students with a platform to showcase their creativity, curiosity, and spirit of inquiry.
Organised collaboratively by the Departments of Science, Computer Science, Engineering Graphics, and Visual Art, the exhibition featured immersive projects, working models, research-based exhibits, and creative installations developed by students across the school.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Ala Al-Fuqaha, Associate Provost for Teaching and Learning and Professor at the College of Science and Engineering, Hamad Bin Khalifa University. The ceremony was also attended by Vice-Chairman Dr. Mohan Thomas, Directors Mr. C.V. Rappai and Mr. Lukose K. Chacko, Management Representatives Ms. Chindhu Antony and Mr. Nevile Lukose, Principal Dr. Anand R. Nair, and Vice Principals Ms. Radhika Rele and Ms. Edna Fernandez.
In his keynote address, Dr. Ala Al-Fuqaha commended the students for their curiosity and innovative spirit, emphasising that the true essence of learning lies not merely in seeking immediate answers but in developing the ability to ask profound and meaningful questions.
Principal Dr. Anand R. Nair applauded the students for their months of dedicated preparation, perseverance, and ingenuity, reaffirming the school's commitment to nurturing scientific temper, creativity, and a sustained spirit of inquiry. Director Mr. Lukose K. Chacko encouraged students to embrace challenges and never fear failure, emphasising that setbacks are an integral part of the journey towards achievement.
The ceremony also featured the felicitation of two distinguished BPS alumni: Ms. Shivapriya Suresh, title winner of Asianet Star Singer Season 10 and an award-winning playback singer, and Mr. Mohammed Hafiz Qays, Silver Medallist in Hip-Hop Solo at the World Dance Festival 2026. The alumni shared words of encouragement with students, inspiring them to pursue their passions with dedication, perseverance, and confidence.
Following the ceremonial ribbon-cutting, guests explored an expansive array of exhibits across the campus, including displays at the Basant Kumar Birla Auditorium, the Observatory at the Football Ground, and the Second-Floor Exhibition Galleries. Spread across 48 classrooms, Amalgam 2026 featured 250 interactive exhibits created by more than 750 participating students.
The exhibits reflected the multidisciplinary spirit of the event, encompassing scientific innovation and robotics, computer science and digital technologies, engineering drawing, and visual arts, with several projects also exploring themes of mindfulness and emotional intelligence.
Among the notable exhibits were the 2D Cartesian Plotter for Image Replication, Alice Programming Animation, ClimaSense AI, Human Detection Radar Using Arduino, Relay-Powered Mechanical Adder, and V8 Internal Combustion Engine.
Collectively, these projects demonstrated the students' ability to translate classroom concepts into practical applications and imaginative solutions. The exhibition concluded with a formal vote of thanks, reaffirming Birla Public School's continued commitment to nurturing scientific temper, technological literacy, creativity, critical thinking, and artistic brilliance.
