Cristiano Ronaldo has suggested that the 2026/27 season will probably be the final campaign of his illustrious football career. The 41-year-old Al Nassr star said he expects to retire when his contract expires next summer and is already preparing for life beyond football.

“This is probably my last year of football, and I want to leave a spectacular legacy,” Ronaldo told Vogue. The Portuguese forward, who helped Al Nassr win the Saudi Pro League title last season, currently has 976 career goals and is chasing the remarkable milestone of 1,000 before ending his career.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner began his senior career with Sporting in 2002 before distinguished spells with Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus and later joining Al Nassr. Ronaldo said he plans to spend more time with his family, travel and pursue other interests after retiring from football.
