As of 9 a.m., a total of 316 relief camps were operating statewide, providing shelter to 11,018 people displaced by the rain and flooding, the Chief Minister stated during a press conference following a review of the flood situation with senior officials. While the rainfall's intensity has decreased, moderate heavy rain continues to impact the region.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) upgraded the rain alert for Kerala from yellow to orange on Monday, cautioning residents about severe heavy rainfall. All districts, except for Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Thrissur, and Palakkad, are under an orange alert.
