Doha: The Embassy of
India in Qatar, in association with the Indian Sports Centre (ISC), Indian
Cultural Centre (ICC), Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF), and Indian
Business and Professionals Council (IBPC) Qatar, will jointly organize the
International Day of Yoga 2026 celebrations on Saturday, June 20, at the UDST
Cricket Ground in Doha. The event will commence at 6:00 pm and will be held
under the global theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing.”
The grand gathering
is expected to be attended by the Ambassador of India to the State of Qatar, H.E.
Shri Vipul, senior members of the Indian community, yoga practitioners, and
wellness enthusiasts from diverse backgrounds. The celebration aims to
highlight the enduring benefits of yoga in promoting physical fitness, mental
well-being, emotional balance, and overall quality of life.
Participants will
have the opportunity to take part in a Mass Yoga Demonstration and expert-led
yoga sessions conducted by experienced instructors. The programme will also
feature health and wellness awareness initiatives designed to encourage
individuals and families to incorporate yoga into their daily routines as a
means of maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
The organizers have extended an open invitation to people of all nationalities and age groups to join the celebration and embrace the universal message of health, harmony, and unity through yoga. Entry is open only to registered participants, and interested individuals are encouraged to register in advance through the registration link available on the official social media pages of the Embassy of India, Doha. On-site registration will also be available, subject to the availability of places. The event promises an inspiring evening of wellness, mindfulness, and community spirit.
