Doha, Qatar: Karnataka Sangha Qatar (KSQ), a leading socio-cultural organization and an associated body of the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) functioning under the aegis of the Embassy of India, Qatar, successfully hosted Sambhrama 2026, a grand musical extravaganza at the DPS-MIS Auditorium, Al Wakrah. Organized under the theme “The Voice of Kannada... The Joy of Hearts,” the event brought together music enthusiasts, dignitaries, community leaders, and members of the Indian diaspora from across Qatar for a memorable celebration of Karnataka’s rich musical and cultural heritage.

The evening commenced with a traditional welcome address by Mrs. Bhavana Naveen, Cultural Secretary, KSQ, who warmly greeted the gathering and set the tone for the festivities. This was followed by a comprehensive safety briefing delivered by Mr. Shashidhara H.B., Joint Cultural & Kannada Activities Secretary, ensuring a safe and well-organized event for all attendees.

The formal inauguration was led by Mr. Harish Pandey, First Secretary, Embassy of India, Qatar, in the presence of members of the Karnataka Sangha Qatar Advisory Board and Managing Committee. The ceremonial opening reflected the strong support extended by the Embassy of India towards community and cultural initiatives in Qatar.

Welcoming the gathering, Mr. Sujith Kumar Hosdurga, General Secretary, KSQ, greeted distinguished guests, corporate partners, sponsors, and community members. He highlighted Karnataka Sangha Qatar’s continued commitment to preserving Kannada language, culture, and traditions while fostering stronger ties among Indians living in Qatar.

The event was graced by H.E. Mr. Vipul, Ambassador of India to the State of Qatar, who attended as the Chief Guest. Joining him were Mr. Sandeep Kumar, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of India, Qatar, and legendary playback singer and “Melody King” Mr. Rajesh Krishnan, who attended as the Special Guest and was warmly welcomed by the audience.

Guests of Honour included Mr. A.P. Manikantan, President of the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC), Ms. Fatima Al Maadeed, Deputy Director for Administrative Affairs at the Qatar Auto Museum, and Mr. Khalid Al Fakhroo, Senior Petroleum Engineer in Qatar’s Energy Sector. The dignitaries were felicitated by the KSQ executive leadership in recognition of their support for cultural initiatives and community engagement.

Addressing the audience, Mr. Subramanya Hebbagelu, President of Karnataka Sangha Qatar, expressed heartfelt appreciation to patrons, sponsors, volunteers, and well-wishers whose unwavering support continues to strengthen the organization’s cultural and community-focused initiatives. He emphasized the importance of preserving cultural roots while promoting unity within the Indian diaspora.

The inaugural ceremony concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Anil Bhasagi, Vice President, KSQ, who acknowledged the efforts of all stakeholders, volunteers, sponsors, and dignitaries for contributing to the success of the event.
The
cultural segment of the evening was expertly anchored by renowned compere Mr. Nataraj Shettykere, whose engaging
presentation and lively interaction with the audience added energy and
excitement throughout the program.
The
highlight of the evening was an electrifying live concert by Mr. Rajesh Krishnan and his
accomplished musical troupe from India. The performance featured celebrated
singers Ms. Pushpa Aradhya, Ms. Seema Raikar, and Mr. Santosh Devaih, supported by a
talented ensemble of musicians who delivered a captivating musical experience.
The
audience was treated to a vibrant repertoire of evergreen Kannada classics,
nostalgic retro melodies, soulful duets, and contemporary chart-topping songs.
The spectacular performances received enthusiastic applause and standing
ovations from the packed auditorium, creating an unforgettable atmosphere of
celebration, nostalgia, and cultural pride. The cultural proceedings concluded
with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr.
Manjoth Suresh, Treasurer, KSQ.
Sambhrama 2026 also
witnessed the presence of prominent Indian community leaders and
representatives from apex bodies operating under the Embassy of India,
including the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC), Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF),
Indian Business & Professionals Council (IBPC), and Indian Sports Centre
(ISC). Distinguished attendees included Mr. P.N. Baburajan, Chairperson of the ICC
Advisory Council; Mr. Deepak Shetty, General Secretary of ICBF and KSQ Advisor;
Mr. M. Ravi Shetty, Chairman of the KSQ Advisory Board; KSQ Advisors Mr. Arun
Kumar, Mr. Veeresh Mannangi, Mr. HK Madhu, and Mr. Mahesh Gowda; and Mr.
Sandeep Sriramareddy, Karnataka Representative at the Indian Cultural Centre.
Their presence further underscored the significance of the event and reflected
the strong support extended by the Indian community and its institutions in
Qatar.
The remarkable
