The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), a
UN-affiliated body, has renewed its call for all parties to exercise restraint
and avoid any nuclear accident risks during the current escalation in the
Middle East.
According to the IAEA's official X account,
Director General Rafael Grossi emphasized the need for caution to prevent a
nuclear incident in the region. He noted that no increase in radiation levels
has been recorded outside the Shahid Rezaei-Nejad uranium production facility
in Iran.
The call follows recent Israeli strikes earlier this week that targeted one of Iran’s largest steel plants, a power station, civilian nuclear sites, and other critical infrastructure.
