ICBF President Shanavas Bava to receive INCAS Qatar's Oommen Chandy Janaseva Award

INCAS Qatar has announced that ICBF President Shanavas Bava has been selected to receive the Oommen Chandy Janaseva Award, instituted in memory of former Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy to honour outstanding individuals for their dedicated public service. The award will be presented during an Oommen Chandy remembrance programme to be held on Friday at 6:00 pm at the ICC Ashoka Hall.



According to the award selection committee, Shanavas Bava was chosen in recognition of his selfless contributions to the fields of social service, humanitarian work, and community welfare. The committee noted that he has played a leading role in several charitable and public service initiatives, earning widespread appreciation from the Indian community in Qatar for his tireless efforts.

The remembrance programme will be attended by Aranmula MLA Adv. Abin Varkey as the chief guest. Representatives of various Indian community organisations in Doha, along with prominent personalities from the social and cultural sectors, are also expected to participate in the event.

The announcement was made during a press conference attended by INCAS Qatar Central Committee Acting President Ashraf Vadakara, General Secretary (Organisation) K.V. Boban, and patrons Joppachan Thekkekoot and John Gilbert. The organisers said the award reflects the enduring legacy of Oommen Chandy's people-centric leadership and aims to recognise individuals who continue to uphold the values of public service and compassion.
