Doha: The Indian Cultural Centre (ICC), in association with the Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF), Indian Sports Centre (ISC), and Indian Business and Professionals Council (IBPC), organised a grand community farewell in honour of His Excellency Mr. Vipul, Ambassador of India to the State of Qatar, as he prepares to take up his next diplomatic assignment following a successful tenure in Qatar. The farewell ceremony was held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at the ICC Ashoka Hall, bringing together leaders of the Indian community and representatives of numerous organisations to celebrate the Ambassador's distinguished service.
Welcoming the gathering, ICC President A.P. Manikantan delivered the felicitation address, highlighting Ambassador Vipul's commitment to strengthening India-Qatar relations and his unwavering support for the Indian community in Qatar. Felicitation messages were also delivered by ICBF President Shanavas Bava, ISC President E.P. Abdulrahman, and IBPC President Thaha Muhammad, who commended the Ambassador for his accessibility, leadership, and active engagement with the community throughout his tenure.
As a mark of appreciation, the four apex organisations-ICC, ICBF, ISC, and IBPC-jointly honoured Ambassador Vipul in recognition of his exemplary diplomatic service and his significant contributions to the welfare and unity of the Indian community in Qatar. Representatives of the affiliated organisations under the four apex bodies also felicitated the Ambassador, expressing heartfelt gratitude for his guidance, encouragement, and continuous support over the years.
Addressing the gathering, H.E. Mr. Vipul thanked the Indian community for its trust, cooperation, and affection during his tenure in Qatar. Reflecting on his memorable journey, he spoke about the strong bonds forged with the community and acknowledged the collective efforts that strengthened the partnership between the Embassy of India and the Indian diaspora. He expressed confidence that the close relationship between the two nations and the vibrant Indian community in Qatar would continue to flourish.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by ICC General Secretary Abraham K. Joseph. Among those present were Mr. Sandeep Kumar, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of India, Dr. Vaibhav A. Tandale, Counsellor (Head of Chancery & Consular), managing and advisory committee members of ICC, ICBF, ISC, and IBPC, presidents of affiliated organisations, and several prominent members of the Indian community, making the occasion a fitting tribute to Ambassador Vipul's impactful and memorable tenure in Qatar.
