Islamabad: A delegation of senior
Iranian officials, led by Parliamentary Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf,
arrived in Islamabad for high-level ceasefire talks with the United States. The
team was received ahead of scheduled negotiations aimed at easing tensions, with
images shared on social media showing the officials upon arrival in Pakistan’s
capital.
Iranian authorities said the talks would proceed only if key conditions are addressed, including a ceasefire in Lebanon and the unfreezing of Tehran’s assets. Meanwhile, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, who is also heading to Islamabad, cautioned Iran against attempting to mislead Washington, signaling a firm stance as both sides prepare for critical discussions.
