Millions of people took to the streets across the United States and several countries in Europe in a massive wave of “No Kings” protests targeting President Donald Trump’s policies and the ongoing war in Iran. Demonstrations were held in more than 3,000 locations, making it one of the largest coordinated protest movements in recent history, with participation reported in both major cities and smaller towns.

Minnesota emerged as the focal point of the movement, hosting the flagship rally at the State Capitol in St. Paul. Tens of thousands gathered, with large crowds filling surrounding streets and holding symbolic signs, including inverted American flags to signal distress. The state has become a key center of protest, particularly following recent federal enforcement actions that intensified public anger.

The
rally featured high-profile figures including musician Bruce Springsteen, who
performed a specially written song reflecting recent incidents and public
resistance, alongside activists, political leaders, and cultural icons such as
Bernie Sanders and Jane Fonda. Protesters voiced concerns over immigration
crackdowns, civil rights issues, and what they describe as increasing
authoritarianism under the Trump administration.
Organisers
estimate that participation has grown steadily with each phase of the “No
Kings” movement, reaching several million people worldwide in the latest
demonstrations. With rallies also reported in cities like Paris, London, and
Tokyo, the protests signal a widening global response and sustained momentum,
as activists vow to continue mobilising in the months ahead.
