The Noida International Airport (NIA)
in Jewar is scheduled to begin commercial flight operations on June 15, 2026.
This milestone marks a significant step for the National Capital Region’s
aviation infrastructure, providing a major alternative to Delhi’s Indira Gandhi
International Airport.
Construction
at the site has entered its final stages, with the terminal building, runway,
and air traffic control tower nearing completion. Following the conclusion of
structural work, the airport will undergo a series of rigorous trials and
calibration tests throughout the coming months to ensure all safety and
operational systems meet international standards.
Upon its opening, the airport aims to handle millions of passengers annually during its first phase. Several domestic airlines have already expressed interest in operating from the new hub, which is expected to boost economic growth and real estate development in the surrounding Uttar Pradesh region.
