Doha: Prime
Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin
Jassim Al Thani inaugurated the 35th edition of the Doha International Book
Fair on Thursday, which will run until May 23 at the Doha Exhibition and
Convention Center.
The
exhibition features 520 publishing houses from 37 countries across 910 booths,
bringing together a wide range of local, regional, and international literary
and cultural works. The opening ceremony was attended by Their Excellencies
sheikhs, ministers, heads of diplomatic missions, senior officials, and guests
of the fair.
During his tour, the Prime Minister visited various pavilions showcasing publications from Qatari, Arab, and international publishing houses, along with the latest books, manuscripts, and cultural works presented by the Ministry of Culture, government entities, and participating cultural institutions. He also launched the "This Is Qatar" book project, the guest of honour initiative for the 35th edition.
