Doha: Qatar Museums has announced free public entry to museums across the country in celebration of International Museum Day on May 18, 2026.
The
initiative invites residents and visitors to explore Qatar’s leading museums
and cultural institutions through a variety of interactive programmes and
family-friendly activities.
This
year’s International Museum Day is being observed under the global theme,
“Museums Uniting a Divided World,” highlighting the role of museums in
promoting cultural understanding, dialogue, and community engagement.
Several
prominent museums and cultural destinations will participate in the
celebration, including the National Museum of
Qatar, Museum of Islamic Art, Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art, and 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum.
Visitors will
be able to enjoy workshops, guided tours, storytelling sessions, film
screenings, and educational activities designed for all age groups throughout
the day.
