Qatar welcomed the statement released by the Security Council on August 7, which denounced the missile attacks carried out by the Houthi group against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since July 13. The statement also addressed the assaults on commercial vessels that have been ongoing since July 22.
On Saturday, Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement expressing its profound appreciation for the Security Council’s reaffirmation of the importance of adhering to international law and pertinent resolutions, notably Resolution 2216. The Ministry also underscored its rejection of actions that threaten regional security and the rights to maritime navigation.
Furthermore, Qatar reaffirmed its solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and committed to supporting all measures taken by the Kingdom to safeguard its sovereignty and security. It is emphasized that the security of Saudi Arabia is intrinsically linked to the security of Qatar and the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
