Qatar cybersecurity agency warns against sharing boarding pass photos on social media

Doha: Qatar's National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) has urged travellers not to share photos of their boarding passes on social media, warning that doing so could expose sensitive personal and travel information. In a public advisory issued on Monday, the agency noted that boarding passes often contain personal details, while the printed QR code can provide access to information linked to the traveller.

The NCSA encouraged people to continue sharing their travel memories with family and friends but stressed the importance of protecting their privacy by completely concealing any personal information before posting images online. The agency said taking this simple precaution can help reduce the risk of identity theft and other cyber-related threats while travelling.
