Doha, Qatar: The Qatar U-18 national basketball team has secured its place in the FIBA Asia U-18 Championship following a stellar performance in the Gulf qualifiers. The team clinched its third consecutive victory by defeating Oman 80-67 on Wednesday evening, July 29, 2026, at Al Gharafa Sports Hall in Doha.
This win, part of the fourth round of qualifiers organized by the Qatar Basketball Federation, brings Qatar’s tally to six points from three wins, ensuring one of the two qualification spots for the continental finals in Ahmedabad, India, from August 13-23, 2026.
Qatar will face Bahrain, who also boast an identical record, in a decisive match to determine the Gulf qualifiers champion and first-place finisher.
