Heavy rain continued to lash parts of Kerala, with northern districts receiving the highest rainfall during the 21 hours ending at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, according to the IMD.
As the rains persisted, many low-lying and riverside areas of Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, and Kozhikode experienced flooding, forcing residents to relocate to relief camps and resulting in the loss of valuable documents and children's school books.
State Tourism Minister P. C. Vishnunadh announced that special adalats would be held to assist in the restoration of documents lost to the flood. The government will also ensure that children receive the necessary textbooks and study materials.
Additionally, the government has sanctioned ₹25,000 for cleaning work in every ward, with several volunteer organizations offering help to clean homes affected by water. The Chief Minister has also announced financial assistance for those who have lost homes and livelihoods, promising swift delivery of aid.
