Doha, Qatar: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, and the President of the Republic of Turkiye, HE Recep Tayyip Erdogan, co-chaired the 11th meeting of the Qatari-Turkish Supreme Strategic Committee at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday.

At the outset of the meeting, HH the Amir welcomed HE President Erdogan and his delegation, wishing them a pleasant stay in Qatar and wishing the strategic relations between the two countries continued development and growth across all areas of partnership to achieve the interests of the two fraternal peoples. HH the Amir emphasized the importance of the meeting as a testament to the robust ties between Qatar and Turkiye, underscoring his commitment to further developing these relations.

In response, HE President Erdogan expressed gratitude for the hospitality and noted the significant progress in bilateral cooperation across various sectors. He also voiced aspirations for further collaboration to serve the interests of both peoples.

They discussed strategic cooperation relations and ways to enhance and develop them across several areas, especially in defense, trade, investment, energy, and information technology. They also discussed key regional and international issues and developments, as well as the current situation in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly those related to consolidating the ceasefire, supporting peace, and the flow of humanitarian aid to the Strip.

The event was attended by high-ranking officials from both countries, including Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, and Turkiye's Minister of Foreign Affairs, HE Hakan Fidan.

Prior to the committee meeting, HH the Amir and HE President Erdogan held a bilateral discussion on topics of mutual interest, followed by a luncheon banquet hosted in honor of the Turkish delegation. An official reception ceremony was held for HE President Erdogan upon his arrival at the Amiri Diwan.
