Qatar tops Arab world in Engineering and Technology in latest ARCIF scientific report

Doha, Qatar: The 2025 Arab Scientific Journals Impact and Citation Report (ARCIF), in its tenth annual edition, has confirmed Qatar's significant progress in the field of engineering and technology within the Arab world. This conclusion is based on an extensive review of scientific output across the region.

Dr. Sami al-Khazendar, Head of the ARCIF initiative, part of the Ma'arefa Database based in Amman, Jordan, described the report as a culmination of ten years of diligent monitoring of Arab scientific publications. He emphasized that the decade-long findings showcase consistent growth in research volume and importance, despite regional challenges.

The ARCIF team evaluated approximately 5,500 scientific journals from 1,500 scientific institutions across 20 Arab nations, excluding Djibouti and the Comoros, along with contributions from eight foreign countries that publish journals in Arabic. Out of these, 1,272 journals met 32 internationally recognized standards set by ARCIF, according to al-Khazendar.
