The March Past, beginning at 3.30 pm, will be one of the main attractions of the meet, showcasing the cultural diversity of India and Qatar through a colourful procession of sportspersons and vibrant traditional art forms, adding a festive and inclusive spirit to the event.
Doha, Qatar: Expats SportEv, in conjunction with Qatar National Sports Day, will organize its much-anticipated Community Sports Meet on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the Aspire Zone Warm Up Track and Field. The day-long competitions will begin at 7 am and are expected to bring together around 750 athletes, making it one of the largest expatriate sports gatherings in Qatar.

Organized
with the approval of the Qatar Sports for All Federation (QSFA) under the
Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Community Sports Meet is designed as a
complete sports festival for expatriates, featuring athletics and a variety of
games. Athletes who have previously represented India, including participants
in international masters tournaments, will compete across various teams, adding
a high level of competition and excitement to the event.
A
total of 37 events will be conducted, including 100m, 200m, 800m and 1500m
races, 4x100 relay, long jump, high jump, shot put, pentathlon, tug of war,
shootout, and cricket bowling. Separate events are scheduled for men and women.
Men will compete in Category A (20–35 years), Category B (above 35 years), and
Masters (above 50 years), while women will compete in Category A (20–30 years)
and Category B (above 30 years). A 3000-meter race will also be held in the
general category. Medals and certificates will be awarded to the top three
finishers in each event, while champion teams will receive trophies. Cash
prizes will also be presented to the top three performers.
One
of the major highlights of the meet will be the March Past, scheduled to begin
at 3.30 pm, celebrating the cultural diversity of India and Qatar. The
colourful procession will feature sportspersons and supporting groups
representing various teams, along with vibrant cultural performances such as
Chendamelam, martial arts displays, Oppana, Kolkali, and traditional dance
forms, adding a festive and inclusive spirit to the event.
Expats
SportEv is a registered sports organization operating under the Indian Sports
Center, an apex body under the Indian Embassy. The organization aims to promote
physical fitness and encourage a healthy lifestyle among expatriates. The
Community Sports Meet is a continuation of the annual sports events organized
by Expats SportEv as part of Qatar National Sports Day celebrations, providing
opportunities for individuals with a passion for sports to stay active and
progress in the field. In addition to the annual meet, Expats SportEv regularly
conducts weight loss competitions, badminton and football tournaments, and
various training programmes for expatriates. The registration process for this
year’s meet has already been completed, and the event is expected to emerge as
a major social and sporting festival showcasing the unity and energy of the
Indian expatriate community in Qatar.
The
main sponsor of the Community Sports Meet is Al Ajjaj Limited Company, a
leading electromechanical contractor in Qatar. Auto Fast Track, a supplier of
automotive spare parts, and Riyada Medical Center, a prominent healthcare
provider, are supporting the event as co-sponsors.
Prominent
dignitaries from the Ministries of Sports and Health, representatives of the
Indian Embassy, local community leaders, and office bearers of various apex
bodies are expected to attend the opening and closing ceremonies. The press
