Doha, Qatar: The General Tax Authority (GTA) has announced the successful implementation of its 100% Financial Penalty Exemption Initiative, resulting in exemptions exceeding QR 900 million for over 4,000 taxpayers since its launch on March 1, 2025. This initiative reflects the GTA’s ongoing commitment to easing financial burdens and promoting voluntary compliance, while contributing to a more efficient and transparent tax system in support of Qatar’s sustainable development goals.
To simplify access to the initiative, the GTA has
streamlined the eligibility process. Taxpayers must complete registration on
the Dhareeba portal, update their information, submit all required tax returns
and financial statements, and commit to timely tax filing and payment for the
next three years. Applications submitted within the specified timeframe will be
reviewed, and applicants will be notified of the results through their Dhareeba
accounts.
The Authority has set August 31, 2025, as the
deadline for registration under this initiative. Eligible taxpayers are
encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to regularize their tax
affairs and avoid future penalties. Further information on terms, procedures,
and eligibility can be found on the GTA’s official website, the Dhareeba
portal, or by contacting the Unified Call Center.
