Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Central Bank (QCB) has officially
announced modifications to the One Riyal banknote, part of the country’s fifth
series of currency. The updated note features changes to the official state
emblem, Arabic numerals, and the issue date, reflecting adjustments made in
accordance with national regulations.
According to QCB, these changes have been introduced to ensure
alignment with the current laws and standards in force across the country.
While the visual and symbolic elements of the note have been updated, the
central bank assured the public that there are no changes to the note’s value
or legal tender status.
The QCB further clarified that the existing version of the One
Riyal note will continue to circulate alongside the revised edition. Similar
updates will be extended to other denominations in the future as part of a
broader initiative to standardize Qatar’s currency in line with the latest
legal and administrative requirements.
