Seven passengers lost their lives and 11 others sustained injuries in a tragic accident involving a private bus on Saturday morning, August 8, 2026. The vehicle overturned and plunged onto a lower road in Chamba district at 7:15 a.m., according to police reports.
The bus was traveling from Bairagarh to Chamba when the accident occurred near Chalunj Mor, a notorious curve on the Bairagarh-Tissa road. This 27-kilometre mountain route in the remote Churah Valley is known for its narrow paths and steep drop-offs and is a critical part of the journey to the high-altitude Sach Pass.
